- The MS-DOS version of the Oracle SQL*Net and SQL*Plus does not include
- Trumpet Winsock as a supported transport protocol. However, has anyone
- had any experience ( good or bad ) attempting to run this combination
- of software. Thanks.

-
- The Trumpet WinSock does not support multiple interfaces and
- routing between interfaces. Therefore you cannot use it at your
- office machine as a dial-in SLIP router.
-
- You could still use it at home for your WinSock SLIP clients.
-
- Undoubtedly future versions of the Trumpet WinSock will very
- likely support multiple interfaces and routing.
-
- >Are there any solutions?
-
- Yes. Shareware/freeware solution -- run KA9Q NET/NOS or
- PC-Route on your work machine, both of which can be configured
- to route and support multiple interfaces, including both serial
- (SLIP) and ethernet interfaces (ethernet via packet driver).
-
- An elegant commercial solution for a single user situation,
- such as yours is to invest in a copy of Frontier Technologies
- SuperTCP for Windows. SuperTCP includes a WinSock compliant
- TCP implementation that also supports multiple interfaces as
- well as routing between interfaces using RIP. For more
- information contact <sales@frontiertech.com>
