  1.     The MS-DOS version of the Oracle SQL*Net and SQL*Plus does not include
  2. Trumpet Winsock as a supported transport protocol.  However, has anyone
  3. had any experience ( good or bad ) attempting to run this combination
  4. of software.  Thanks.

  28. The Trumpet WinSock does not support multiple interfaces and
  29. routing between interfaces.  Therefore you cannot use it at your
  30. office machine as a dial-in SLIP router.

  32. You could still use it at home for your WinSock SLIP clients.

  34. Undoubtedly future versions of the Trumpet WinSock will very
  35. likely support multiple interfaces and routing.

  39. Yes.  Shareware/freeware solution -- run KA9Q NET/NOS or
  40. PC-Route on your work machine, both of which can be configured
  41. to route and support multiple interfaces, including both serial
  42. (SLIP) and ethernet interfaces (ethernet via packet driver).

  44. An elegant commercial solution for a single user situation,
  45. such as yours is to invest in a copy of Frontier Technologies
  46. SuperTCP for Windows.  SuperTCP includes a WinSock compliant
  47. TCP implementation that also supports multiple interfaces as
  48. well as routing between interfaces using RIP.  For more
